Chaos Revisited

How are my favorite people today? It is hot in West Virginia but I am pushing forward with cleaning and quilting (and dog care!).

Let’s revisit chaos. For those of us raised in abuse or neglect, we know chaos is stronger than almost any single other emotion. It drove my relationships for 30 years. I choose partners that fed my need for chaos even if it was the last thing I wanted. I choose jobs that were often chaos: teaching, out reach and social work. And my living space has always been a mess.

So how do we fix this? If you haven’t found a therapist and you are tired of the cycle you are in, find one. If depression is an issue, talk to your doctor. If you don’t have health insurance, look for a free clinic. Often, there are mental health clinics that have a sliding scale fee. It is so important and can change your life.

For me, I am going to spend now until October 1st finding calm in my home. Tonight, I focused on two rooms that need cleaning. I have visions for both rooms and have made a plan for each; a vision board of sorts. I will get this done!
