Not so much today. I keep making mistakes but I’m still sewing on this quilt. In the past, with the depression in play, I would have tossed all of it or put it away, never to see the light of day. Today I just tossed the offense block in the trash and kept sewing.

The trouble with Joyful Healing
Unhoarding is great but we are in Charleston and have time to kill and I have no other shopping I need to do. All the quilt stores are too far one direction or the other and, honestly, except a sunflower panel, I don’t need anything. Normally, the next step so to grab a bite butContinue reading “The trouble with Joyful Healing”
Joyful Healing and Christmas
I just received this for my Christmas village. I have worked to include houses that remind me of family members. I struggled to find anything for my bio mom who was an alcoholic. For a long time I couldn’t see beyond that but I spotted this and knew my village needed this. She was anContinue reading “Joyful Healing and Christmas”
All Mine
Perhaps, one of the most difficult things about living with someone, whose disabilities get worse by the day, is this. I had to bring groceries in alone (well, Tigger and Teddy supervised), put them away alone and move onto my next tasks alone. My husband is still in bed today and my daughter has goneContinue reading “All Mine”
Afghanistan and Vietnam
I have had to take a break from the news. The fall of Afghanistan reminds me of the fall of Saigon. And it reminds me of my first suicide call. And it also reminds me of my bio mom and the second to last time I turned to her for comfort. It was a hotContinue reading “Afghanistan and Vietnam”
Joyful Healing
The living room is better and I am getting excited. The sewing room is better, too. Husband says he’ll hook up the cable tomorrow and I will finish moving in. I have mass and Sunday school tomorrow. When I get home I’ll do some catch up cleaning and then some quilting. I honestly can seeContinue reading “Joyful Healing”
Almost
I am almost moved into the sewing room. We have been moving furniture all day. An antique sewing machine is getting frequent roller miles (it has wheels). I’m too tired to even think about emotions but I am really bummed that I’m not going to finish before I go back to “work” next week. ItContinue reading “Almost”
Long Day
Went to a doctor’s appointment with husband, daughter and friend. Very long day. Really want to be home cleaning. I love this freedom of finding clothes in the morning, knowing where each, current, quilt project is located and know where tools and other household items reside. It makes for truly joyful quilting, joyful healing andContinue reading “Long Day”
My Sewing Room
This is my sewing space. I still have some work to do. The floor will be pulled up and replaced this fall. Hopefully, this will lead to beautiful quilts, bags and scarves.
Progress
Today was major furniture moving day. Husband has bad shoulders, back and knees but helped me get a table moved in for my sewing machine. I also moved an old sewing machine and cabinet in to put my t.v. on. I seem to be missing connectors but will figure that out later. I moved inContinue reading “Progress”
