As I read an article on Facebook yesterday, I realized my grandmother was no healthier than my mom. When my parents moved from St. Louis, I begged to stay with my aunt. I didn’t want to go to my grandparents. I had a job and could have supported myself but my father refused; he madeContinue reading “Grandmother”

Joyful Quilting
I haven’t talked much about joyful quilting. I have struggled with finding my footing in the art I do. There were moments with my bio mom that were negitive and I took an art class at a community college where the teacher said I would never create anything that was art. I gave up creatingContinue reading “Joyful Quilting”
I won’t ask you…
Frida Kahlo told her husband, “I’m not asking you to kiss me, nor apologize to me when I think you’re wrong. I won’t even ask you to hug me when I need it most. I don’t ask you to tell me how beautiful I am, even if it’s a lie, nor write me anything beautiful.Continue reading “I won’t ask you…”
Sumo Santa
I haven’t done much unhoarding this week. I have a nasty bone bruise on a rib and not up to par with the covid shot. Really tired, mostly. With that said, I will have two quilts ready to go by Monday. It’s not unhoarding but it is getting things in order. One quilt will goContinue reading “Sumo Santa”
Dream Board
With moving my sewing room and cleaning the house, I have let my business vision board slip. I am also signed up for a blogging course I haven’t started. I plan on blocking out time next week to do this. I need to move this forward if I want to make money and this isContinue reading “Dream Board”
Long Day
Went to a doctor’s appointment with husband, daughter and friend. Very long day. Really want to be home cleaning. I love this freedom of finding clothes in the morning, knowing where each, current, quilt project is located and know where tools and other household items reside. It makes for truly joyful quilting, joyful healing andContinue reading “Long Day”
Progress
Today was major furniture moving day. Husband has bad shoulders, back and knees but helped me get a table moved in for my sewing machine. I also moved an old sewing machine and cabinet in to put my t.v. on. I seem to be missing connectors but will figure that out later. I moved inContinue reading “Progress”
Overwhelmed?!!! Nope!
Last night, I talked to my stepson and grandkids. They are in the process of selling a home and moving and working two and a half jobs. My husband and I can help so we are going down on September 9th. Then we will come home and go back a couple of weeks later toContinue reading “Overwhelmed?!!! Nope!”
More Freedom
Today started out with me making rhymes. This is very bad because it means I am very stressed. Had a bit of an anxiety attack and then started cleaning the back room and things got better. I have given up on the idea that things shouldn’t be marked. I have an extensive collection of quiltingContinue reading “More Freedom”
